technical difficulties

Thursday night brought trauma to our delightful little Mac Mini. I spent the better part of the day trying to fix the problem, unsuccessfully. Therefore, the Mini will be out of commission for three to five business days. At one point we possessed a disc that could have fixed the problem, but it seems to have been lost in our move back from Korea.

On the positive side, the customer service agents that I spoke with were most patient with me and worked very hard to help me. They weren't able to fix the problem, but as was mentioned, I think that I was mostly to blame there. I should have kept closer watch on important discs and documents. Anyway, when I asked what had caused this whole debacle, they suggested that a third-party application was at fault. I have a program in mind; it will not be reloaded after the Mini is fixed.
