Lack of sleep is a bad thing.
Sometimes I am a rather slow learner. For instance, on Christmas Day of my senior year at BJ, I came down with a cough. The cough stayed with me until after second semester ended. But it wasn't until I was afflicted by similar multi-month illnesses that I finally made the connection. Not enough sleep = get and stay sick.
I get projects started and don't want to stop them. If I get started in the evening, the temptation is to let sleep pass me by. Don't get me wrong, I go to sleep. But if I'm working on something, it's tempting to go to bed at 3:00 or 4:00.
I can cope with one night of this, but when it happens night after night, my health suffers. And that is a bad thing. I learned this lesson definitively in Korea, four years after my first episode.
