After several failed attempts, I managed to get up for another 6:30 a.m. men's prayer meeting. As began my trip to church by stepping out of the house into the back yard, I was overwhelmed with the chill of the crisp morning air. After thinking that I should have put thicker clothes on, I paused to look up into the clear, sunless sky. The stars didn't seem to be fuzzy as they often are. Instead they shone clearly, boldly, and distinctly, and the moon was abnormally bright too. I enjoyed my brief encounter with nature, and following it with prayer seems a very fitting way to begin this new day.
