Last night Laurel and I were talking about scheduling a phone conversation with someone in Germany. I commented that we didn't have anything to do this weekend, meaning that we didn't have anywhere that we were scheduled to be or anything that we had scheduled to do. She responded by saying we had to do a lot of things, mistaking my comment to mean that we could just relax all weekend. Her misunderstanding brought me to an unpleasant realization of the shortness of our time here and how much we still have to do before we leave. I knew this to be true before, but our conversation brought it to the forefront of my mind. It is intimidating.
