Laurel and I have been enjoying a good bit of relaxation today. After a leisurely morning, we went out with Porcia (Sae-an), one of Laurel's Latin students from Korea who went to Bob Jones Academy. She and her family were driving past Gunsan on their way to Gwang-ju to visit family. She called us last night to set up a lunch date. We went to a yummy Korean restaurant with them today that served us a lot of food. There was a lot of raw fish, but I was not brave enough to try any of it. Instead, all I could muster up the bravery for was a well cooked clam. I've decided that I don't like clam. In addition to several other dishes, not all of which were seafood, we also had octopus. Most of the octopus that I have eaten in Korea has been overwhelmingly spicy. But this was the mildest octopus that I have had. It was a nice change.
After lunch we came back home and took a fairly long nap. In Pastor Stewart's absence, this weekend, I am in charge of running the church services tonight and tomorrow, so the ease and carefree nature of the weekend is likely to take a dramatic turn here in several hours.
